Contemporary Indigenous Cultures:
Just like non-Indigenous cultures in Australia today, Indigenous cultures have been impacted on by the modern Australian society. Especially those Indigenous Australians who reside in urban areas and have frequent contact with non-Indigenous Australians and various cultures. Those Indigenous Australians who live in rural and remote communities tend to live a more traditional lifestyle and culture. However, that does not mean those individuals in rural or remote areas are ‘more Aboriginal’ or value their ‘Aboriginality’ more. Both these misconceptions are incredibly offensive to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population.
